Building Owner Detained in Gachibowli Building Collapse

Hyderabad: The Cyberabad police detained the owner of the ground plus six-storeyed building that collapsed in Anjaiah Nagar in Gachibowli, on Saturday, killing two persons, who were doing tiles workers.
Syed Sajid, was taken into custody at Shamshabad Airport while he was allegedly attempting to flee the country, the police said, adding that Sajid had allegedly constructed the G+6 building without obtaining the required municipal permissions.
The building collapsed suddenly on Saturday, trapping several workers under the debris. Two tile workers from Madhya Pradesh, Umesh Khare and Mohpal Bhalavi, died in the incident.
The police conducted post-mortems on the bodies and handed them over to their family members. Meanwhile, police are searching for the building contractor, Khaja, who allegedly played a key role in the construction.
The police will interrogate Sajid to gather complete details about the construction, including the permissions, materials used and the role of those involved. The investigation is underway.
