BRSV, SFI Stage Dharnas Against GO on Polytechnics

He alleged that the Congress is conspiring to privatise polytechnic colleges run by the state government by first bringing them under purview of YISU.

Nalgonda:Members of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi Vidyarthi (BRSV) staged a dharna in front of the Government Polytechnic College in Nalgonda on Thursday demanding withdrawal of GO 97.

Speaking on the occasion, BRSV state general secretary Bommaraboina Nagarjuna said through the GO, Congress government is bringing polytechnic diploma institutions under Young India Skills University (YISU), a public-private partnership institute.

“Under the new system, students would lose the opportunity to pursue B. Tech after completion of polytechnic courses. It will also lead to cancellation of ECET, a lateral entry scheme for polytechnic students to B. Tech courses,” Nagarjuna pointed out.

He alleged that the Congress is conspiring to privatise polytechnic colleges run by the state government by first bringing them under purview of YISU.

In Khammam district, members of Students Federation of India (SFI) staged a similar protest at the Government Polytechnic College at Madhira, demanding that the state government withdraw GO 97.
