BRS Will Probe HAM Road Works When it Returns to Power: MLA

He further alleged lapses in paddy procuremen

Nalgonda: BRS MLA Guntakandla Jagadish Reddy on Sunday alleged irregularities in Hybrid Annuity Model (HAM) road projects and said an inquiry would be ordered if the party returns to power in the state.

Addressing a meeting of booth-level agents in Bhongir, he accused the Congress government, led by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, of collecting commissions from contractors in HAM road works.

He alleged that project costs were being escalated multiple times to facilitate commissions and claimed that there was a possibility of toll plazas being introduced in rural areas under the HAM model.

The MLA also accused ministers from the erstwhile Nalgonda district, including N. Uttam Kumar Reddy and Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, of neglecting development and focusing on personal priorities. He said no significant development had taken place in the district over the past two-and-a-half years.

He further alleged lapses in paddy procurement, stating that purchases were yet to be completed at several centres in Yadadri-Bhongir district.

Reddy also urged party booth-level agents to ensure that no genuine voters were deleted from electoral rolls during the Special Intensive Revision process.

Several BRS leaders were present at the meeting.
