BRS to Oppose Siddapur Dump Yard Plan: Harish

Speaking with farmers and residents from Siddapur and nearby villages who called him, Harish Rao said the proposal to set up the 86-acre dump yard in the village was an extremely deplorable act.

Hyderabad:Senior BRS leader T. Harish Rao on Monday demanded that the government withdraw the proposal for setting up a garbage dump yard in Siddapur in Kothur mandal of Rangareddy district.

Speaking with farmers and residents from Siddapur and nearby villages who called him, Harish Rao said the proposal to set up the 86-acre dump yard in the village was an extremely deplorable act. This will severely impact the lives of people in nearly 20 villages, he said. The plan to “establish the dump yard amid lush agricultural lands, close to residential areas, is a clear example of the Revanth Reddy government's ill-considered decisions.”

Harish Rao said that if the plan was allowed to go ahead, the supply of vegetables to Hyderabad would be affected. He assured the villagers that the BRS will take up and fight alongside the villagers in opposing the setting up of the dump yard.
