BRS Sends Damodar To Kavitha For Peace Talks

Damodar Rao was accompanied by another party leader, Gandra Venkat Rao, and the two leaders spent around two and a half hours with Kavitha.

Hyderabad:The BRS leadership appeared to have taken seriously its MLC and party president’s daughter K Kavitha’s recent outburst and her sulking against what she repeatedly alleged was a deliberate campaign to sideline her and malign her, by sending party Rajya Sabha MP D Damodar Rao to her residence as a possible peacemaker.

Damodar Rao was accompanied by another party leader, Gandra Venkat Rao, and the two leaders spent around two and a half hours with Kavitha. While there was no official word on what transpired at the meeting, it is learnt that Damodar Rao, considered as one of BRS president K. Chandrashekar Rao’s confidants, impressed upon Kavitha to stay calm, and not take any precipitate action in view of how she felt about her place in the party.

Monday’s reach out by the BRS leadership reportedly followed Chandrashekar Rao asking Damodar Rao to parley with Kavitha as part of a first concrete efforts to stem possible rot in the Bharat Rashtra Samithi and put an end to the reported in-fighting between Kavitha on the one side, and her brother and BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao and senior leader T. Harish Rao on the other.

It is learnt that Kavitha, who was planning to go to the Saraswati Pushkaralu on Monday, the last day of the event, had cancelled the plan hoping for a call from Chandrashekar Rao but instead, Damodar Rao was deputed to her residence.

Meanwhile, in an apparent public display of support to Rama Rao, Kavitha slammed the ACB notices issued to him in the Formula E race case. Kavitha, in a post on X, said she strongly “condemns the notice to KTR which is nothing more than a desperate attempt by the Congress government to divert public attention.”

Harish Rao too joined the condemnation saying the notice was Revanth Reddy’s vendetta politics which is a clear sign of insecurity. “Fabricated cases won’t stand in court or win public trust. We stand with KTR. Truth will prevail,” Harish Rao said in a post on X.
