BRS Plans Protest On Oct. 14, Demands Bonus For Singareni Workers
BRS will hold a Singareni Karmikula Garjana at Ramagundam on October 14, demanding a higher profit share and other benefits for SCCL workers.

The BRS said it would hold a ‘Singareni Karmikula Garjana’ protest at Ramagundam on October 14 demanding that the Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) immediately declare its profits and give its workers their rightful share of the profits, party senior leader and former minister T. Harish Rao said on Thursday.
SCCL, Harish Rao said, was facing serious problems ever since the Congress government came to power, and these problems were affecting not only the workers but the company’s officials too. The protest, which will be attended by the party working president K.T. Rama Rao, will also demand that the company provide dependent jobs to eligible candidates through medical boards, clear pending payments, and conduct union elections, he said at a press conference.
When the BRS was in power, SCCL workers received a 32 per cent share of profits. After the Congress came to power, the share was reduced to 16 per cent in the first year, which was again reduced to 12.5 per cent in 2024–25, he said. Alleging that SCCLs profits have fallen to around `1,800 crore this year from `6,394 crore in 2024-25, Harish Rao wanted the government to explain the reasons for the falling profits.
