BRS MLA Vemula Prashanth Reddy on Hunger Strike After House Arrest
Prashanth Reddy, along with his supporters, continued the hunger strike till evening.
Karimnagar: BRS Balkonda MLA Vemula Prashanth Reddy on Wednesday observed a hunger strike at his residence in Velpur mandal after being placed under house arrest by police.
The legislator had planned a day-long protest at Bheemgal, demanding completion of pending works, including a 100-bedded hospital, an integrated market and reopening of the closed TGSRTC bus depot.
Police prevented him from proceeding to the protest venue and placed him under house arrest early in the day. He continued the hunger strike at his residence. Supporters and BRS workers from the constituency gathered at his residence after learning of the development. Mild tension prevailed when police restricted their entry.
