BRS Legal Cell Will Help People With 22A Restrictions: Harish

BRS launches a 10-member legal cell to provide free assistance to people affected by 22A land restrictions, Harish Rao says.

The BRS on Wednesday announced that it has set up a legal cell at Telangana Bhavan, its headquarters, to provide free legal assistance to victims affected by the government placing lands under Section 22A of the of the Registration Act and under a prohibited list.

“A 10-member legal team will extend free legal support to affected property owners,” senior BRS leader and former minister T. Harish Rao told during a meeting of several people who said they became victims of the government decision to place lands under the prohibited list.

Demanding that revenue minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy be dismissed from the state Cabinet, Harish Rao said the government must remove wrongly included properties from the 22A prohibited list without forcing victims to run from office to office. And those responsible for the large-scale inclusion of private properties in the prohibited list must be identified and held accountable, he added.

Appealing to people not to pay commissions to anyone and not to sell their properties at distress prices, Harish Rao said BRS MLAs and leaders will approach officials and district collectors wherever necessary and remain with the people until their grievances were resolved.

“Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy may know the business of real estate, but BRS leaders know the language of struggle. We fought for Telangana by risking our lives. We know how to fight for people’s rights. We will not leave this issue until justice is done to every genuine victim,” he said.
