BRS Files Privilege Breach Complaint Against Revanth

Hyderabad:The BRS on Thursday filed a motion on breach of privilege in the Legislative Assembly against Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, accusing him of misleading the Assembly by displaying a post on the social media ‘X’ from a fake account on Wednesday.
BRS MLAs from Uppal and Patancheru, Bandari Lakshma Reddy and Gudem Mahipal Reddy, in a notice submitted to Assembly secretary Rendla Tirupathi, said the Chief Minister’s actions constituted a breach of Assembly privilege under Rule 168 of the Assembly Rules. The notice alleged that the Chief Minister made baseless allegations and accusations that tarnished the reputation of former chief minister and Leader of Opposition K. Chandrashekar Rao.
The notice said Revanth Reddy, during a discussion in the House, read from a post on X from @SandhyaRaoBRS who claimed to be the BRS international secretary. The BRS MLAs said this was a serious matter warranting grave consideration as the Chief Minister himself shared information from a fabricated social media account that invented a non-existent ‘international secretary’ of the BRS.

By doing so, they said, the Chief Minister presented false, baseless, and factually incorrect information in the legislature, and urged the Assembly secretary to immediately examine the matter and take action as per rules.
