BRS Delegation in Delhi For CCI Revival

The Adilabad unit of the CCI has remained closed for several years, with workers continuing to demand its revival

ADILABAD: BRS leaders on Wednesday travelled to New Delhi to seek revival of the Cement Corporation of India (CCI) unit in Adilabad.

Former minister Jogu Ramanna, along with members of the CCI Sadhana Committee, is scheduled to meet Union minister for heavy industries H.D. Kumaraswamy to press for reopening of the unit.

The move comes amid efforts by the BRS to raise the issue with the BJP-led Central government. Party working president K.T. Rama Rao is also expected to join the delegation, along with Khanapur in-charge Bhukya Johnson Naik.

The Adilabad unit of the CCI has remained closed for several years, with workers continuing to demand its revival.

Leaders of the BJP, Congress and BRS have, at different times, assured revival of the unit during election campaigns, but no decision has been taken so far.
