Bandi Sanjay Alleges Misuse Of Dharani, Bhu Bharathi

The Union Minister questioned why Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy waited this long to officially raise the alarm over thousands of acres of encroached public lands in the Assembly.

ADILABAD: Union minister of state for home affairs Bandi Sanjay Kumar on Wednesday alleged that the previous BRS government had misused the Dharani portal for land-related “exploitation” and claimed that the Congress government was now using Bhu Bharathi for the same purpose.
Speaking to the media in Karimnagar, Sanjay alleged that the family of former Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao had used Dharani to grab large tracts of land and make money. He also alleged that Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy had failed to act against land encroachments and was now using the Bhu Bharathi system for similar purposes.
Sanjay questioned why the Chief Minister had taken 1,000 days to disclose details of the alleged land scam in the Assembly. He alleged that BRS MLAs had sold government lands and amassed money, while poor people cultivating podu lands for decades were yet to receive pattas.
He claimed that 25 lakh families in the state did not have land to construct houses and alleged that several villages had seen no development as their lands were classified as forest areas.
Sanjay further alleged that Revanth Reddy was raising funds for the Congress whenever elections were held in other states and linked this to the Chief Minister’s disclosures on alleged land scams. He said he had raised the issue of land scams during his padayatra.
Referring to the Chief Minister’s disclosure on the alleged land scam involving nine persons, Sanjay questioned how long it would take to disclose alleged irregularities involving 90 MLAs.
He demanded that the Chief Minister constitute an SIT, seize encroached lands and assets of legislators disproportionate to those declared in their election affidavits, and disqualify them if they were found guilty.
Sanjay also questioned the status of investigations into alleged irregularities relating to electricity purchases, phone tapping, farmhouse deals, the Formula E race and Kaleshwaram. He alleged that 10,000 acres had been grabbed in Sircilla and claimed that political leaders and influential persons had encroached on lakhs of acres across the state.
