ADILABAD: A brother and sister drowned while practicing cycling after accidentally falling into a water-filled quarry at a real estate venture in Mavala mandal of Adilabad district on Saturday.
The tragic incident occurred while the children’s parents, Lanka Swamy and Geetha, were working in nearby agricultural fields. The deceased were identified as Vinoothna (11) and her younger brother Vidhatha (8), residents of Mavala Gram Panchayat.
According to preliminary reports, Vidhatha fell into the quarry, which was filled with floodwater. In an attempt to save him, Vinoothna also fell in and both drowned.
