HYDERABAD: Brahmotsavam festivities commenced on Friday at Telangana’s only temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu’s Matsya (fish) incarnation, drawing devotees and history enthusiasts. The shrine is noted for its rare dedication and holds significant spiritual and historical importance. According to inscriptions displayed at the temple premises, the shrine traces its origins to ancient times and is closely associated with regional rulers and local traditions.
Temple architecture reflects a blend of classical styles, carvings and mythological narratives, particularly the Matsya Avatar, believed to have saved the Vedas during a great deluge, said Sri Raja Sanjay Gopal Saincher, founder family member and chairman of the temple.
Historical records mention that the temple received patronage from various dynasties, contributing to its growth over centuries. Inscriptions further highlight its role as a spiritual centre for surrounding villages.
The Brahmotsavam begins with ceremonial rituals and includes special processions and community participation.
