Bonalu Festival to Conclude in Old City with Ghatam Processions
The processions taken out from various temple in old city will converge at Lal Darwza near Sri Simhahavini Mahankali Temple proceed to Musi River

Hyderabad: The two-day colourful Bonalu festival will conclude on Monday with temple committees organizing separate ‘Ghatam’ processions from Lal Darwaza to Musi River near Azalgunj.
With this, the Ashadamasam Bonalu will conclude in Hyderabad. The processions taken out from various temple in old city will converge at Lal Darwza near Sri Simhahavini Mahankali Temple proceed to Musi River.
The procession would pass through the main thoroughfares of Haribowli, Lal Darwaza, Charminar, Madina and culminate at Musi River near Afzalgunj where immersion process would be carried out after performing rituals.
Potharajus smeared with vermillion and turmeric paste all over the body would lead the processions dancing to the pulsating drum beats. Folk artists from Telangana and Andhra Pradesh would also perform to mark the occasion.
On their part, the police department has elaborate security arrangements for the smooth conduct of the procession. Traffic restrictions were also imposed to ensure that the procession proceed to its destination in a hassle-free manner.
