Bonalu celebrations: Hyderabad police impose traffic restrictions in old city, other areas

The police urge commuters to plan journeys and travel in advance to reach destinations

Hyderabad: The police imposed traffic diversions in several parts of Hyderabad including the old city in view of Bonalu festival on July 20 and 21.

Traffic diversions for Sri Simhavahini Mahankali Bonalu celebration processions in Lal Darwaza processions will be enforced on July 21 from 11 am to 10 pm.

Vehicles coming from Engine Bowli and Falaknuma will not be allowed towards Aliyabad, and it will be diverted at new Shamsheergunj ‘T’ junction towards – Goshala, Tadban or Goshala Misri Gunj, Khilwath. The traffic coming from MBNR Crossroads is not allowed towards Aliyabad, and it will be diverted at Engine Bowli towards –Jahanuma, Goshala, Tadban or Goshala Misri Gunj, Khilwath.

Vehicles coming Nagulchinta and Sudha Talkies will not be allowed towards Lal Darwaza temple and it will be diverted at Nehru Mode towards Sudha Talkies via Gowlipura. The traffic coming from Gowlipura towards Lal Darwaza mode and it will be diverted at Sudha Talkies towards Mirchowk via Hari Bowli.

Vehicles coming from Pancha Mohalla (Charminar) will not be allowed towards Nagulchinta, it will be diverted towards Hari Bowli, Voulga Hotel and Misrigunj. Traffic coming from Rajanna Bowli towards Lal Darwaza temple will be diverted at Venkateshwara Swamy temple (Baba Bar) lane towards Ramaswamy Gunj.

Vehicles coming from Kandikal gate will not be allowed towards Lal Darwaza temple road and it will be diverted at Chatrinaka police outpost ‘Y’ junction towards Gowlipura. The Traffic coming from Balagunj will not be permitted towards Lal Darwaza temple and it will be diverted at Laxhmi Devi pan shop towards Nehru statue Nagulchinta junction.

The traffic coming from Uppuguda and Chatrinaka side via Gowlipura will not be allowed towards Mohammed Shukoor mosque, and it will be diverted at Balraj Jewelers point Gowlipura Crossroads towards Moghalpura police station.

The traffic coming from Kandikal gate flyover to Chatrinaka police outpost will be diverted towards VN Reddy Kaman and Uppuguda Janda. The heavy vehicle coming from Old Chandrayangutta to Chatrinaka vehicles would not be allowed and it will be diverted towards Santoshnagar and Chandrayangutta.

Vehicles coming from Fateh Darwaza will not be allowed towards Himmatpura Crossroads, Rajesh Medical Hall and it will be diverted at Volga Hotel ‘T’ Junction towards Khilwath road. Traffic coming from Gowlipura will not be allowed towards Sudha Theater and will be diverted at Mohammed Shukur mosque towards Mirchowk via Volta Hotel, Moghalpura and Ethabar chowk.

Motorists coming from Chatrinaka police outpost towards Gowlipura will be diverted at Gandhi statue towards Sri Ram Nagar colony, CIB Quarters, Sulthan Shahi, Lalitha bagh and Moghalpura. The traffic coming from Meer-ka-Daira and Moghalpura will not be allowed towards Hari Bowli Crossroads and it will be diverted towards Moghalpura Water Tank area.

Vehicles coming towards Charminar main road from Asra Hospital side and Moghalpura Water Tank will not be allowed and will be diverted towards Bibi Bazar. The Traffic coming from Bhavani Nagar and Mirjumla Talab will not be allowed towards Charminar and will be diverted at Bibi Bazar Crossroads towards Alijah Kotla (MiralamMandi road).

The Traffic coming from Alijha Kotla / Moghalpura areas towards Charminar via Sardar Mahal road will be diverted at Chowk Maidan Khan towards Hafiz Danka Masque / Arman Hotel via Sri Gayatri College and Alijha Kotla.

Motorists coming from Yakutpura will not be allowed towards Gulzar House and it will be diverted at Etabar chowk towards Mir Alam Mandi and Alijha Kotla road. The Traffic coming from Purani Haveli towards Tipu Khana Masjid via Chatta Bazar will be diverted at Lakkad Kote Crossroads Roads towards APAT Junctionsor Dar-ul-Shifa. The traffic coming from Chadrghat, Noorkhan Bazar, S.J Rotary, Shivaji Bridge will not be allowed towards Salarjung Museum road and it will be diverted at S.J Rotary towards Purani Haveli road, Shivaji Bridge and Chaderghat.

The traffic coming from Khilwath road or Moosabowli road will not be allowed towards Laad Bazar and it will be diverted at Motigalli ‘T’ junction towards Khilwat Play ground or Moosa Bowli. Vehicles coming from Bandi ke adda and Ghansi Bazar will not be allowed towards Gulzar House and it will be diverted at Mitte-Ke-Sher (Sher-E-Batul Kaman) towards Ghansi Bazar and Chelapura.

The traffic coming from Ghansi bazaar and Chelapura will not be allowed towards Chakram Adda and it will be diverted at Ghansi Bazar towards Chelapura. Vehicles coming from Puranapul, Good will Hotel and Moosabowli will not be allowed towards Nayapool via, High Court Gate One along the Musi River and it will be diverted at Muslimjung Bridge towards– Bhoolaxmi Temple- Begum Bazar- Chatri.

The Traffic coming from Gowliguda and Siddiamber Bazar towards Nayapool will be diverted at Afzalgunj towards Muslimjung Bridge via Osmania General Hospital back side road along the Musi River or Shivaji Bridge.

The main road between Madina Crossroads to Engine Bowli, Via Gulzar House – Charminar monuments, Charminar Busterminal, Himmatpura, Nagulchinta, Aliabad will be closed for all types of vehicular movement till the conclusion of Bonalu processions.

Parking Places for Visitors:

Devotees arriving from Aliyabad side shall park their vehicles at Devi Plywood opposite to Post office, Shalibanda in a single line on the main road. Those arriving coming from Hari Bowli and Gowlipura side shall park their vehicles at Arya Vyshya Mandir.

Devotees coming from Old Chatrinaka police staion side shall park their vehicles in the premises Sree Venkateswaa Temple, Laxmi Nagar. Devotees arriving from Moosabowli and Mirchowk side shall park their vehicles at Charminar Bus Terminal.

The Telangana and APSRTC buses will not be allowed towards Charminar, Falaknuma and Nayapool side and it will be terminating at old CBS, Afzalgunj, Darulshifa CrossroadsRoads, Chatrinaka and Engine Bowli and will take alternate routes open to them.

Traffic diversions were imposed at Sri Mahankali temple in Amberpet on July 20 from 6 am to 6 am on July 22.

All vehicles including district buses, city buses and heavy vehicles vehicular traffic coming from Uppal intended to go towards Chaderghat and MGBS will be allowed on Amberpet flyover. All vehicles including heavy vehicles, DCMs, district, and city buses—coming from Chaderghat and MGBS will pass over the Amberpet flyover.

Devotees who are intended to go to the temple will be allowed under a flyover towards Gandhi Statue – Amberpet GHMC Ground and park their vehicles inside the ground. The commuters intending to go towards 6 number Junction and Moosarambagh will be diverted to CPL Amberpet – Saldhana Gate towards Amberpet ‘T’ Junction and Ali Cafe Crossroads Roads and the return route will be vice-versa.

Alternative routes

If the traffic is heavy at Amberpet flyover the general traffic coming from Uppal intended to go towards Amberpet T Junction and Ali Cafe will be diverted at Royal Juice Corner – Mallikarjuna Nagar - D.D. Colony – Syndicate Bank - Shivam Road – Tilaknagar.

If the traffic is heavy at Saldhana Gate the general vehicular traffic intended to go towards Uppal will be diverted at Ali Cafe towards HMWSSB – Nagole Road.

Traffic diversions were imposed at Sri Katta Maisamma and Pochamma temple in Chilkalguda from July 20 to 21.

A large number of devotees are expected to attend this temple for Bonalu festival from the nearby localities of Chilakalguda and surrounding areas for ghatam and thotela processions on July and Palaharambandi processions with Pothuraju on July 21 from 6 am to 11 pm.

The commuters are advised to take the following roads and avoid movement towards Sri Katta Maisamma – Pochamma temple in Chilkalguda on July 20 and 21 from 5 am to 11 pm.

The below are diversion points from July 20 to 21 from 6 am to 11 pm.

The vehicles coming from Seethaphalmandi Junction towards Chilkalguda Crossroads will be diverted towards Namalagundu – Warasiguda Crossroads and towards Seethaphamandi ‘T’ Junction, OU City Road – Tarnaka Crossroads.

The vehicles coming from Allugadabavi and Secunderabad from Chilkalguda Crossroads towards Seethaphalmandi will be diverted towards Padmarao Nagar T Junction.
