Hyderabad: A group assaulted two booth-level officers (BLOs) and disrupted the ongoing special intensive revision (SIR) of the electoral roll at NBT Nagar under the Banjara Hills police station limits on Monday.
According to the complaint, Pitla Sandhya, an outsourced GHMC employee working as a BLO at Polling Station 237, was distributing enumeration forms along with fellow officials at the Government High School, NBT Nagar, between 11 am and 11.30 am. Four persons identified as Jojula Raju, Rajitha, Shankaramma and Narasimha arrived at the venue and allegedly interfered with the officials work. The complainant alleged that Rajitha and Shankaramma physically assaulted her and another BLO, Devi, besides issuing abuses and preventing the officials from carrying out their duties. She further stated that the same group had threatened them at the same location a day earlier. Police registered a case and launched an investigation into the allegations.
