Adilabad: The CCI Sadhana Samiti has launched an agitation seeking revival of the closed Adilabad unit of the Cement Corporation of India, with its members staging a relay hunger strike on Tuesday.
Youth from Yapalguda extended their support to the samiti members participating in the protest. Former BRS minister Jogu Ramanna also extended his support to the samiti and alleged that Adilabad MP Godam Nagesh and MLA Payal Shankar were misleading the youth and attempting to sideline the demand for revival of the CCI unit by raising other issues.
Ramanna said the factory could be revived with an allocation of `250 crore from the state government and that it would create employment for hundreds of unemployed youth. He called upon the youth to participate in the ‘Vidyarthi Garjana’ programme scheduled for Wednesday.
