BJP Welcomes CEO’s Swift Action, Additional CEO to Probe Khammam Poll Station Row

Hyderabad:The BJP has welcomed the prompt response from the State Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) following a representation by the party’s Election Commission affairs committee chairman Marri Shashidhar Reddy. After personally meeting Telangana CEO Sudarsan Reddy, the party secured the deputation of additional CEO Dr A. Venkateshwara Reddy to Khammam on Saturday for an on-ground inquiry into alleged partisan targeting of BJP booth level agent V. Rajesh.
The complaint arose after Rajesh’s name was reportedly omitted from draft voter rolls in retaliation for his representation seeking relocation of four polling stations (Nos. 221–224) from Urdu School, Khammam fort, citing narrow access and space constraints. Local administration had earlier submitted a misleading report denying these issues, allegedly under pressure from ruling party leaders.
The BJP state leadership said the inquiry would help uphold administrative neutrality and ensure free, fair electoral rolls, holding accountable any officials found acting under political threats and pressure.
