BJP Welcomes All Interested Leaders, Says Party Chief
Ramchander Rao targets Congress on aid promises, praises Centre's farmer support

Adilabad: Telangana BJP state president N. Ramchander Rao on Tuesday said that the party welcomes leaders — regardless of their background — who show interest in joining the BJP, as the party has plans to strengthen its presence in the state.
On the P.C. Ghose Commission Report on Kaleshwaram, he said that the BJP would comment on the report only after it is officially tabled in the Assembly.
Speaking at the Rythu Sammelan organised in Luxettipet, Mancherial district, Ramchander Rao added that it is the Central Government, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, which is genuinely working for the welfare of farmers across the country.
He alleged that the Congress government has done nothing for the welfare of farmers and has forgotten its promise to provide Rs 15,000 as financial assistance to them. In contrast, the Central government, led by the BJP, credited money directly to farmers' bank accounts under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Yojana.
He further alleged that the Congress government gave Rs 6,000 twice to farmers merely in view of the upcoming local body elections.
Ramchander Rao also criticised the state government for blaming the Centre over the alleged shortage of urea, stating that the Central Government had released more than its quota to Telangana.
Graduate MLC C. Anji Reddy said that districts like Mancherial, Komaram Bheem-Asifabad, and Nirmal have seen no real benefit from the Kaleshwaram Project, despite it being constructed at a cost of Rs 1 lakh crore under the BRS regime.
He said that farmers in the region still depend on SRSP, and many tail-end farmers are not receiving water. He also alleged that illegal sand mining continues under the Congress government just as it did during the BRS rule.
Teachers’ MLC Malka Komaraiah criticised the state government for failing to fulfil the promises it made to the people during the elections.
Former MP Borlakunta Venkatesh, former MLA Kasipeta Lingaiah, Mancherial district BJP president Venkateshwar Goud, and state leader Raghunath Rao also addressed the gathering. The BJP state president is scheduled to stay in Kagaznagar for the night and attend programmes in Kagaznagar and Asifabad on Wednesday.
