BJP To Hold Padayatra On Electoral Rolls

The party alleged that the Congress and its allies were spreading false propaganda against laws meant to protect national integrity and security: Reports

HYDERABAD: The BJP will organise a ‘Maha Padayatra’ in Hyderabad on Monday, November 2, against what it called the “misleading campaign” by the Congress and I.N.D.I.A. bloc over the special intensive revision of the electoral roll. Union home minister Amit Shah will attend as chief guest and address cadres.

The march, under the slogan “Save democracy, end anarchism,” will begin at Tank Bund near the Swami Vivekananda statue and conclude at the Dr B.R. Ambedkar statue. It will be led by BJP Telangana president N. Ramchander Rao.

In a statement, the party alleged that the Congress and its allies were spreading false propaganda against laws meant to protect national integrity and security, creating unrest for political gain. The padayatra, it said, would expose these “conspiracies” and present facts on the revision exercise.

Besides Shah, Union ministers G. Kishan Reddy and Bandi Sanjay Kumar, Legislature Party leader Aleti Maheshwar Reddy, MLC A.V.N. Reddy, MPs Etala Rajender, Konda Vishweshwar Reddy and DK Aruna, and all-party MLAs and MLCs will take part. The BJP appealed to workers, intellectuals and the public to participate in large numbers.
