BJP Suspends Ex-SCB Vice-President Ramakrishna Over Banner Controversy

Tthe Cyberabad police arrested half a dozen persons including Ramakrishna (51) for intentionally putting up unauthorized banners on the KPHB FoB containing objectionable, false, and defamatory content against the BJP MP.

Hyderabad: The Telangana BJP has suspended Secunderabad Cantonment Board (SCB) former vice-president G Ramakrishna from the primary membership for violating the party rules by putting up banners against Malkajgiri MP Etala Rajender in Kukatpally Housing Board (KPHB) Foot-over-Bridge (FoB).

In a letter to Ramakrisha, State Disciplinary Committee Convener Ravinder Viswanath said, “You have violated the party rules and have openly engaged in activities that undermine the reputation of the party and its leaders.”

“With the permission of the state president, you have been suspended from the primary membership of the party. This suspension comes into effect immediately. You are requested to give an explanation to the state party about your conduct within a week from today,” he added.

Earlier, the Cyberabad police arrested half a dozen persons including Ramakrishna (51) for intentionally putting up unauthorized banners on the KPHB FoB containing objectionable, false, and defamatory content against the BJP MP.

The banners appear to have been deliberately displayed with the malicious intention of tarnishing the image, reputation, and goodwill of the BJP and Etala Rajender among the public, the police said.

Apart from Ramakrishna, the nabbed G Rakesh (34), Syed Qudruth Ahmed (50), Syed Mehraj (35), Shaik Kaleem (31) and Naseer Uddin alias Afroze (32).
