Karimnagar: Tension flared up in Karimnagar after the BJP supporters vandalised the camp office of former Minister and MLA Gangula Kamalakar on Thursday following controversial remarks made by BRS MLA P Padi Kaushik Reddy against Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay Kumar.
According to reports, BJP supporters attacked the camp office and damaged vehicles parked on the premises by smashing their window glasses with sticks. The incident took place in the backdrop of Kaushik Reddy’s statement asking Bandi Sanjay to undergo a drug test.
Kaushik Reddy made the remarks in response to Bandi Sanjay’s earlier demand that BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao (KTR) should undergo a drug test. Escalating the war of words, Kaushik Reddy alleged that Bandi Sanjay had lost his hair due to the side effects of consuming drug-laced tobacco products.
The comments triggered strong reactions from BJP supporters, leading to the alleged attack on the camp office prompting the police to rush to the spot and disperse the irate activists.
