BJP Slams Rahul, Opposition Over ECI Attacks
Subhash pointed out the irony that the parties alleging bias themselves owe their existence to registration with the ECI.

Hyderabad: The Telangana BJP has strongly condemned Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and Opposition parties for what it called “reckless and baseless” allegations against the Election Commission of India (ECI), by claiming that their actions could erode public trust on a key democratic institution.
In a statement, the BJP chief spokesperson N.V. Subhash said that despite repeated assurances from Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar that no eligible voter would be deleted during the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls, Rahul Gandhi is “leading a drama” aimed at damaging the commission’s credibility.
Subhash urged Opposition parties to cooperate instead of casting unfounded aspersions, emphasising that every citizen 18 and above has the constitutional right to vote, a right the commission has pledged to protect.
Subhash pointed out the irony that the parties alleging bias themselves owe their existence to registration with the ECI. He highlighted that the SIR process, especially in Bihar, includes district-level party representatives and Booth Level Officers nominated by the same parties now criticizing the process. If national leaders are not aware of this, Subhash said, it reveals either internal communication gaps or a ploy to create confusion.
The BJP also took a swipe at RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav, recalling how he was caught in a controversy regarding his own vote. “When confronted with evidence of alleged double voting, neither he nor his party could provide any proof,” Subash said, adding that this exposes the hollowness of Opposition charges. Reiterating support for free and fair polls, Subhash declared the ECI remains steadfast with every Indian voter, undeterred by “manufactured slander.”
