Talking to reporters, former MP and senior BJP leader Dr Boora Narsaiah Goud said the BCs constituted 52% when the British were in power in 1931. The sample survey carried out by the Mandal Commission has shown the BC population in the country as 53%. The caste survey carried out by the Congress government is showing the BCs as 46% in the State. By reducing the Gouda community from 23 lakhs to 16 lakhs, Munnuru Kapu members as just 12 lakhs and Golla Kuruma community as 18 lakhs. Similarly, the fishermen, Vaddera and several other caste members were reduced as per the caste survey by the Congress government.
Charging that Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy had unleashed false campaign against the Prime Minister Narendra Modi as “converted BC” with his upper caste arrogance, Dr Narsaiah Goud said that Revanth Reddy was playing a dangerous game, which would prove costly for him as members of backward classes will backlash against him and pointed out that Narendra Modi belongs to ‘Teli’ caste in Gujarat, which is ‘Gandla’ caste in Telangana.
When AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal made cheap comments against Modi, the voters have rejected him in recent Delhi elections and Revanth Reddy should not forget these things when leveling such kind of cheap remarks, he said.
