BJP Leader Seeks Muharram Security
The DGP assured the delegation that protocols would be reviewed and citizen safety during Muharram would remain a priority, Baqri said.

Hyderabad:BJP Minority Morcha leader Mir Firasath Ali Baqri met director general of police C. V. Anand on Monday and urged strengthened security arrangements for Muharram 2026. Baqri submitted a detailed representation seeking comprehensive deployment of forces and advance planning for Ashoorkhanas and processions during the 68‑day period from June 16 to August 23.
The delegation asked for specialised units including Task Force, Special Branch, Special Operation Team and SHE Teams to be positioned across the state to ensure public safety. Key dates highlighted for security include the 10th Muharram procession on June 26, the Arbaeen procession on August 4, Chup Taziya on August 22 and Eid‑e‑Zehra on August 23. Baqri stressed the historical and spiritual significance of these observances and called for early, coordinated measures.
