BJP Leader Flags Limoges Town Hall Blaze As Warning Against ‘Anarchy’ In Delhi Streets

Telangana BJP chief N. Ramchander Rao cited the reported Limoges Town Hall fire in France to warn against violent street protests in India.

BJP state president N. Ramchander Rao on Sunday cited the destruction of the historic Limoges Town Hall in France to warn against violent street protests in Delhi, saying that “anarchists” were seeking a similar situation in India.

In a post on X, Rao said the 143-year-old town hall, which had survived two World Wars, collapsed after rioters set it on fire during widespread unrest in France. “When anarchists take over the streets, this is what happens!” he wrote.

Referring to the incident, the BJP leader alleged that this was “exactly what anarchists wanted in India.” He, however, asserted that India under Prime Minister Narendra Modi would never yield to such forces. “India under PM Modi will never succumb to anarchists and their sinister plans,” Rao said.

The Limoges Town Hall in France was severely damaged after protesters allegedly set a police vehicle on fire outside the building during violent demonstrations over the rising cost of living, deteriorating public services and fuel prices. The protesters broke windows, entered the premises and set the heritage structure on fire and it completely collapsed.
