BJP Hails Bengal Verdict As Modi Reaffirmation
Kishan Reddy also declared that the Congress had “completely vanished” from national politics under Rahul Gandhi’s leadership, adding that the BJP would intensify efforts to come to power in Telangana.

Hyderabad: Senior BJP leaders on Monday projected the Assembly election results in five states, particularly the landslide victory in West Bengal, as a reaffirmation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership and the party’s “double engine” model.
Union minister G. Kishan Reddy said the people had extended their blessings to Modi, and claimed the outcome in Bengal was especially significant as the state was set to see BJP rule for the first time under the NDA. He alleged that the Trinamool Congress had ruined the state over 15 years, turning an industrially advanced region into a “jungle raj,” while enabling illegal migration and mining. He said the victory would mark the beginning of major change in Bengal and strengthen BJP’s prospects in South India, including Telangana.
Kishan Reddy also declared that the Congress had “completely vanished” from national politics under Rahul Gandhi’s leadership, adding that the BJP would intensify efforts to come to power in Telangana.
BJP state president N. Ramchander Rao said the verdict was a fitting reply to the “INDI alliance” and showed the BJP could form a government in Telangana. Rajya Sabha MP K. Laxman said voters had backed democracy and expressed confidence in Modi, noting that Telangana too was looking for change. He pointed to Modi’s upcoming public meeting on May 10 as a trigger for political shifts.
Union minister Bandi Sanjay Kumar said the results were a setback to leaders who tried to divide politics into North and South, targeting Telangana CM Revanth Reddy and Tamil Nadu CM M.K. Stalin. He expressed confidence that “double‑engine governments” would come to more states in the days ahead.
