BJP Fulfilled Promise Of Kazipet Coach Factory: Vaishnaw
The multi-faceted manufacturing project would bring significant transformation to the lives of people in the region: Union railway minister Ashwini Vaishnaw

WARANGAL: The Kazipet Railway Manufacturing Unit is being built using advanced technology, fulfilling a four-decade-long dream of the people. Its realisation has been made possible due to the efforts of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, said Union railway minister Ashwini Vaishnaw.
Accompanied by Union coal minister G. Kishan Reddy, BJP state president K. Laxman, former MLA Dharma Rao, and Rao Padma Reddy, the railway minister inspected the ongoing construction of the manufacturing unit at Ayodhya Puram in Kazipet, Hanamkonda, on Saturday.
Addressing the media, Vaishnaw stated that the unit is being established at a cost of ₹500 crore and is expected to begin operations by 2026. The Kazipet facility is set to evolve into a “Mega Factory” for the region. It will manufacture not only railway coaches but also essential components such as engines, wagons, and metro train parts, along with their designs.
Expressing satisfaction with the pace of progress, he said the multi-faceted manufacturing project would bring significant transformation to the lives of people in the region.
Union minister Kishan Reddy highlighted that no previous government had succeeded in establishing a coach factory in Kazipet, not even during the tenure of former Prime Minister P.V. Narasimha Rao. It was only after Narendra Modi assumed office as Prime Minister that a decision was taken to set up the manufacturing unit, which was later approved. Modi himself laid the foundation stone for the factory, which is expected to generate around 3,000 direct jobs and several thousand indirect employment opportunities.
He added that the Central government has also undertaken multiple railway development initiatives in Telangana, including the upgrade of 40 railway stations. Warangal Railway Station is among the key stations being modernized. Additionally, 50 per cent of the Warangal Outer Ring Road project has been completed. The Centre has also sanctioned a textile industry project and the restoration of the Thousand Pillar Temple Mandapam.
Responding to criticism of the BJP government’s contributions to Telangana, Kishan Reddy urged detractors to acknowledge the extensive development being carried out under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership.
He praised railway minister Ashwini Vaishnaw for personally visiting Kazipet to monitor the project, calling it a testament to the BJP government's commitment to railway development. He noted that the railway minister is transforming the Telangana railway landscape through the introduction of Vande Bharat trains, station modernisation, and network expansion.
