Adilabad: BJP leaders on Wednesday accused the Congress of obstructing the women’s reservation Bill in Parliament under the pretext of delimitation of Assembly and Parliamentary constituencies, terming the move “unfortunate” and a “historic blunder”.

Speaking at a ‘Women Akrosh’ programme in Nirmal, party leaders, including Nirmal in-charge Gopidi Shravanti Reddy, district BJP president Ritesh Rathod and state media officer Bommagani Raju Mudhiraj, addressed the media.
They said the Congress had failed to explain its opposition to the Bill and alleged that it had obstructed similar efforts in the past. The BJP leaders rejected the Congress and its allies’ argument that delimitation linked to the Bill would adversely affect southern states in terms of parliamentary representation.
They also criticised Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi over his reported stand on surgical strikes and Operation Sindhoor.
Khanapur Municipal chairperson Ankam Mounika, councillors Ravula Ramya and B. Satyawathi, Sarpanch Siram Sushma Reddy, Tirumala Kalpana Goud and others were present.
