BJP Alleges 30,000 Illegal Voters In Maheshwaram
Telangana BJP chief N. Ramchander Rao alleged that nearly 30,000 Rohingyas and other illegal voters were identified in Maheshwaram during the SIR.

BJP Telangana president N. Ramchander Rao on Monday alleged that nearly 30,000 Rohingyas and other illegal voters had been identified in the Maheshwaram Assembly constituency during the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls.
Addressing a meeting of BJP state office-bearers, district presidents and senior leaders at the party’s state office, Rao alleged that the Congress and the INDIA bloc were spreading false information over the revision process as they feared losing elections if the names of illegal immigrants were removed from the electoral rolls.
The BJP president claimed that the SIR process had brought to light the names of illegal immigrants in voter lists. Rao said foreign nationals were not entitled to vote under the Constitution, while every Indian citizen above 18 had the right to vote, irrespective of religion.
Accusing the Congress of attacking the Election Commission and Electronic Voting Machines after electoral defeats, Rao said, “When the Congress wins, EVMs and the Election Commission are good. When it loses, it blames them.”
He claimed that the BJP alone could provide an alternative to the Congress and BRS in Telangana.
The state BJP chief also criticised the state government over alleged attacks on Hindu temples. Referring to the recent incident at the Santoshi Mata temple near Dilsukhnagar, where a man allegedly threw sticks at the idol, he accused the police of trying to dilute such cases by describing the accused as mentally unstable. Police have detained the accused and are investigating the incident.
Referring to earlier incidents reported at temples in Secunderabad and Malkajgiri, Ramchander Rao questioned whether persons with mental health problems targeted only Hindu temples. He alleged that the Congress government was ignoring the sentiments of devotees for vote-bank politics and demanded better security at temples and strict action in such cases.
He said the BJP would hold ‘Seva Jyothi Yatra’ and ‘Viksit Bharat Sankalp Sabha’ at all district headquarters on October 7. Party workers have been asked to assemble by 9 am. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP national president Nitin Nabin are scheduled to address the gatherings virtually after 10 am, he said.
