HYDERABAD: A 53-year-old businessman from Kapra has lodged a complaint with the police alleging that he was cheated of ₹1.5 lakh by individuals posing as representatives of a courier service company.
According to the complaint filed by K. Srikanth, the incident began three months ago when he saw a Facebook advertisement for a company named Evergo Services. Interested in starting a courier business, he contacted the mobile number listed in the ad.
A woman identifying herself as Niharika allegedly told him he could avail their courier services and franchise support for a payment of ₹1,50,000. Believing the offer to be genuine, Srikanth transferred the money and later received a "Service Provider Agreement" by post, which strengthened his confidence in starting the franchise.
However, after a month, all communication ceased. His calls went unanswered and no further response was received. Suspecting deliberate cheating in the name of business, he approached the Kushaiguda police seeking action. An investigation is underway.
