Hyderabad: At least five two-wheelers parked at the Malakpet Metro Rail station premises were gutted after unidentified persons reportedly set them ablaze by pouring petrol on them. The police suspect that the miscreants deliberately committed an offence.
Chandrayanagutta inspector M. Raju said they received a call from a passerby from the station saying that some bikes parked at the Metro Rail parking lot caught fire. Immediately, police arrived at the place and verified the premises.
They found empty bottles, which could have been used to carry the petrol. The inspector said they collected CCTV footage at the premises, had it verified and a team was formed to probe the incident.
Following the incident, the traffic movement on the stretch of Malakpet Metro Rail came to a standstill for a couple of hours. Later, the traffic police cleared the traffic snarls.
