Sunil Kumar said that there was no Act and legal frame for corrections for Dharani land data which have many mistakes

Hyderabad: The state government's new Bhu Bharati initiative will help farmers by giving a clear detail of their agricultural lands and the records of the residential buildings also would be uploaded on the portal, said a law professor at Nalsar.

Speaking at a programme on Bhu Bharati, Sunil Kumar, advocate and adjunct Professor at Centre for Tribal and Land Rights (CTLR), Nalsar University of Law, said Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has taken up the initiative, which will collect complete data of agriculture and residential lands, details including maps of the respective places to upload on the Bhu Bharati portal.

Finding fault with the Dharani portal of the BRS government and its data, Sunil Kumar said that there was no Act and legal frame for corrections for Dharani land data which have many mistakes. The Dharani data was uploaded based on the records of 1971 Act. The state government introduced Bhu Bharathi Telangana Act 2025.

“The government started implementing Bhu Bharati to upload correct details of lands, mistakes rectification, mutation, maps upload, and revenue officials are assigned tasks to take action, appeal aspect and others mentioned in the new Act. This Act would help the farmers to protect their lands by putting basic records for long term and it would also help to purchase, sell, and pledge for loans, and prevent disputes in future,” he said.
