Bhu Bharati to Open on April 14; Test Run in 3 Mandals: CM Revanth

Revanth Reddy highlighted the need for a robust and secure mobile app version of the Bhu Bharati portal

Hyderabad: Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has instructed officials to select three mandals for a pilot project to test the Bhu Bharati portal, soon after its formal launch on April 14, Dr Ambedkar Jayanti. The CM said that the portal, which will replace the controversial Dharani portal introduced by the previous BRS regime, was aimed at providing transparent and accessible land records to the public.

Revanth Reddy, speaking at a review meeting, said that Bhu Bharati was being developed to streamline access to land-related data and transactions, particularly for farmers. He stressed that the system should be user-friendly and available in simple language to ensure ease of use for the general public.

“As part of the pilot project, awareness sessions will be held in three mandals under the supervision of district collectors,” he said. “All queries raised during these sessions must be addressed promptly and accurately.”

The Chief Minister directed that similar awareness programmes be conducted across all mandals after studying the outcome of the pilot. He insisted that public suggestions and feedback should be actively incorporated to improve and strengthen the portal. Revanth Reddy also highlighted the need for a robust and secure mobile app version of the Bhu Bharati portal.

In a separate review meeting focused on the housing department, Revanth Reddy directed officials to ensure Indiramma housing benefits reach only the most deserving and poorest sections of society.

He directed that village-level Indiramma committees take extra care in identifying beneficiaries. The final list must undergo field verification by a team comprising the local tahsildar, MPDO, and engineer. If any ineligible individual is found to have been allotted a house, immediate corrective action must be taken, including reallocating the house to an eligible candidate.

Revanth Reddy issued a stern warning against any scams or irregularities under the Indiramma housing scheme, stating that any malpractices would be met with strict legal consequences. He also instructed officials to recover funds in cases where ineligible beneficiaries construct homes using government funds.

To ease the financial strain on beneficiaries, the Chief Minister suggested allowing house expansions up to 50 per cent beyond sanctioned plans and recommended providing essential construction materials like cement and steel at subsidised rates.

The meeting was attended by revenue and housing minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy, CMO principal secretaries V. Seshadri and G. Chandrasekhar Reddy, joint secretary Sangeetha Satyanarayana, CM’s OSD Vemula Srinivasulu, revenue secretary Jyothi Buddha Prakash and CCLA secretary Manda Makarand.
