Bhatti Commissions Yadadri Power Plant Unit

4,000 MW thermal power plant to be dedicated to nation by Jan. 2026.

Nalgonda: Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka has announced that the entire 4,000 MW Yadadri Thermal Power Plant will be dedicated to the nation by January next year. Speaking at a ceremony where the first unit of 800 MW was commissioned at the Yadadri plant in Damaracherla, Nalgonda district, on Friday, he noted that the project had been delayed by two years due to the negligence of the previous BRS government.

He stated that delays in securing environmental clearances had hampered the project’s progress, resulting in cost overruns. However, Bhatti emphasised that under the current Congress government, the necessary environmental approvals were obtained within just two months of taking office. He also praised the dedication of all those involved in the project, from ground-level workers to chief engineers, for their relentless efforts in moving the project forward.

Addressing concerns over the plant’s remote location, Bhatti urged employees to overcome logistical challenges and assured that world-class facilities, including top-tier educational institutions and corporate-level healthcare, would be developed in the adjoining township. He further stated that free education and healthcare services would be extended to local residents in the near future.

Bhatti said that monthly and weekly targets have been set to monitor the project's progress. He announced that two units, with a combined capacity of 1,600 MW, have already been dedicated to the nation. He credited Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, ministers N. Uttam Kumar Reddy and Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, as well as other elected representatives, for their cooperation in achieving these milestones.

Responding to complaints from locals about road damage caused by heavy vehicle movement associated with the power plant, the Deputy Chief Minister said that a large number of concrete roads had already been sanctioned, and construction is underway. He assured that all individuals who had given up land for the Yadadri Thermal Plant and the Pulichintala project would be offered jobs by August 15, and that the Resettlement and Rehabilitation (R&R) package would be fully implemented.

Ministers N. Uttam Kumar Reddy, Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, Adluri Laxman, along with other elected representatives and senior officials, were also present.
