Bhagyanagar Ganesh Utsav Samiti Unveils 48th Festival Plans
This year’s theme will be ‘Swadeshi’, and pandal organisers have been requested to use only Indian-made items. Arrangements are being made in coordination with the GHMC, HMDA, and the police.

Hyderabad: The Bhagyanagar Ganesh Utsav Samiti, which oversees the annual Ganesh festival and the 48th edition of the collective immersion procession, on Saturday invited the participation of government departments, social, spiritual, religious, and media organisations, to the celebrations.
The samiti clarified the immersion schedule, stating that the main Ganesh idol immersion will take place on September 6, beginning early in the morning.
Samiti president G. Raghava Reddy released the festival’s poster, booklet, and CD. Samiti members, who are overseeing arrangements across the GHMC region, told Deccan Chronicle that several seers would visit the city during the festival and tour pandals in different bastis.

General secretary Dr Ravinutala Shashidhar said, “This year, there will be 1.4 lakh Ganesh idols of five feet and above that have been intimated to the police department.” He said one lakh saffron flags will placed across the city. “The government has extended its support as always. Since last year, free electricity has been provided to Ganesh pandals,” he noted.
