Nalgonda: A youth was beaten to death by a group of people at Bhusarayi in Allapalli mandal of Bhadradri-Kothagudem district on Thursday.
The victim, Madakam Bheeda alias Raju (35), belonged to the Guthi Koya community. He died on the spot after being attacked and beaten with sticks by a group of 10 to 15 people.
Yellandu circle inspector B. Satyanarayana said the group assaulted Raju on suspicion that he was practising black magic in the village. Their suspicion reportedly arose after a woman from the village died of ill health on Tuesday.
A case has been registered against 10 people, and efforts are underway to arrest them. The attackers fled the scene following Raju's death.
