Bhadradri Kothagudem: Congress MLA Jare Adi Narayana expressed shock after finding that a Class IV student at a government school in Pakalagudem, Dammapet mandal of Bhadradri Kothagudem district, was unable to write or recognise basic Telugu letters.

The issue came to light during the MLA's inspection of the school on Friday. As part of his visit, Adi Narayana interacted with students in the classroom to assess their learning levels.

Expressing concern over the poor academic standards, the MLA questioned the teachers after a Class IV student failed to write even the basic letters of the Telugu alphabets.

He also questioned the teachers, asking why the government was paying salaries if they were unable to ensure basic literacy among students. He reminded them that they had been appointed to serve in tribal areas and stressed the need for greater commitment to teaching.
