Bhadrachalam: Hospital Reception Set on Fire Over Patient's Death

According to reports, the deceased was identified as Venkataramana (36) from Dantelaboru village in Palvoncha mandal.

Bhadradri Kothagudem: Tension prevailed at a private hospital in Bhadradri Kothagudem district after the family members and relatives of a deceased patient allegedly set fire to the hospital's reception area, accusing the staff of medical negligence.

According to reports, the deceased was identified as Venkataramana (36), a tribal Sarpanch from Dantelaboru village in Palvoncha mandal. She had been admitted to the private hospital a few days ago after falling ill. However, she died while undergoing treatment.

The relatives staged a protest, alleging that the patient died due to the negligence of the hospital staff and demanding justice. The hospital management alerted the police, who rushed to the spot and quickly brought the fire under control, preventing a major mishap.

Venkataramana's husband alleged that doctors administered an overdose of medication, leading to her death. He further claimed that the hospital staff shifted her to a hospital in Khammam only after her condition deteriorated.

The deceased's family members alleged that the hospital doctors failed to provide a clear explanation about her death and behaved negligently. Angered by the alleged lack of response from the hospital management, the family members protested on the premises, and one of the relatives allegedly attempted to set the reception counter on fire.

Police intervened immediately, doused the flames and brought the situation under control. A case has been registered, and further investigation is underway.
