Basement Fire Guts Vehicles, Liquor Stock In Banjara Hills

HYDERABAD: A massive fire broke out in the basement of a six‑storey building at Banjara Hills early Saturday, prompting swift action by firefighters who evacuated 12 workers safely. Six vehicles and large quantities of liquor cartons were
gutted.
District fire officer T. Venkanna said the call was received at 6.36 am and 38 personnel with six vehicles, including a fire bronto and exhausters, rushed to the spot. The blaze was extinguished by 7.16 am.

No casualties were reported. Preliminary investigation suggests a short
circuit triggered the fire. Banjara Hills police registered a case and are
probing the incident.
