Bandi Vows Saffron Surge After Karimnagar Win

Addressing jubilant supporters alongside former mayor Y. Sunil Rao, Bandi Sanjay dedicated the victory to Mahashakti Ammavaru and to the people’s faith in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s governance.

Karimnagar:Following the BJP’s maiden victory in the Karimnagar Municipal Corporation, Union minister of state for home affairs Bandi Sanjay Kumar declared that the saffron flag would soon fly over Hyderabad.

Addressing jubilant supporters alongside former mayor Y. Sunil Rao, Bandi Sanjay dedicated the victory to Mahashakti Ammavaru and to the people’s faith in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s governance.

He accused the ruling Congress, BRS and AIMIM of a “tripartite conspiracy” to defeat the BJP, alleging that despite distributing up to ₹7,000 per vote and attempting to lure BJP candidates, the opposition failed to halt the party’s momentum.

The Union minister criticised Chief Minister Revanth Reddy for splitting the GHMC into three parts to appease the Owaisi brothers, claiming the move would prove a “death warrant” for Congress in the upcoming Hyderabad, Cyberabad and Malkajgiri corporation elections.

Bandi Sanjay asserted that the BJP’s strength in the 66-division council would grow beyond its current 33 seats, revealing that three independents had already joined the party and several others were in touch with Sunil Rao. He noted that while the BJP contested 56 seats with core party workers, 33 won and another 10 lost by fewer than 100 votes.

Highlighting AIMIM’s decline in Karimnagar — from seven seats to three — he took pride in the BJP’s performance in Kashmir Gadda, a traditional MIM stronghold. He praised party workers for standing firm despite past attacks on their homes and shops, saying their sacrifices had borne fruit.

Rejecting allegations that he had failed to bring funds to the city, Bandi Sanjay credited the Modi government with spending ₹1,500 crore on Karimnagar’s infrastructure, while alleging the state government had contributed “not a single paisa.” He promised clean, corruption-free administration and vowed to take governance directly to the people’s doorstep.
