Bandi To Shun Partisan Politics, Focus On Development
"Studying in a government school now comes with a great gift, a bicycle": Bandi Sanjay Kumar

KARIMNAGAR: Union minister of state for home affairs Bandi Sanjay Kumar announced that he would refrain from engaging in partisan politics in his Karimnagar parliamentary constituency and instead concentrate on developmental activities.
On Saturday, Bandi Sanjay, along with Telangana BC welfare minister Ponnam Prabhakar, distributed free bicycles to Class X students from government schools as part of the ‘Modi Gift’ initiative in Husnabad town.
Speaking at the event, Sanjay Kumar said that he and Ponnam Prabhakar are jointly working to establish a Navodaya School and a Sainik School in the Husnabad constituency. He also praised Prabhakar for initiating the ‘Steel Bank’ to reduce plastic usage in the area.
Highlighting the student benefits under the 'Modi Gift' initiative, Sanjay Kumar said, "Studying in a government school now comes with a great gift, a bicycle." He pledged that all Class X students studying in government schools will get free bicycles every year during his tenure as MP.
He recalled an incident during his padayatra in Nirmal district where he met a young boy who had dropped out of school because he couldn’t afford a bicycle. After giving the boy a bicycle and witnessing his joy, Sanjay Kumar said the experience inspired the decision to expand the initiative to all Class X students.
He also announced the upcoming distribution of ‘Modi Kits’ to students from nursery to Class VI. These kits will include a school bag, a steel water bottle, notebooks, pens, and pencils. Additionally, he committed to installing water purification plants and improving infrastructure in government schools to make students feel proud of their education.
Encouraging students to work hard and draw inspiration from achievers, Sanjay Kumar cited Siddipet district collector Hymavathi and additional collector Garima Agarwal as role models who rose to prominence through education.
He emphasised the Centre’s commitment to strengthening the public education system under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, noting that the education budget has doubled over the past 11 years, with more than ₹8 lakh crore spent on the sector.
