Bandi Seeks Centre Aid For Spiritual Tourism, Sainik School In Telangana
During a meeting with Union minister for tourism and culture Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, Sanjay Kumar highlighted the urgent need to improve tourism infrastructure in these culturally significant regions.

KARIMNAGAR: Union minister of state for home affairs Bandi Sanjay Kumar has urged the Centre to extend special assistance for the development of Vemulawada, Kondagattu, and Ellanthakunta in Telangana as spiritual tourism hubs.
During a meeting with Union minister for tourism and culture Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, Sanjay Kumar highlighted the urgent need to improve tourism infrastructure in these culturally significant regions. He requested financial support under the Special Assistance to States for Capital Investment (SASCI) scheme to promote spiritual tourism and preserve Telangana’s cultural heritage.
Responding positively, minister Shekhawat assured that the proposal would be given due consideration and instructed officials to initiate appropriate action.
In a separate meeting, Sanjay Kumar also submitted a representation to Union defence minister Rajnath Singh, urging the establishment of a Sainik School in either Rajanna Sircilla or Siddipet district. He pointed out that while interest among youth in joining the armed forces is growing, the region lacks access to military-oriented education.
“Sainik Schools are instrumental in nurturing discipline, leadership, and patriotism among students. Setting up such an institution in Sircilla or Husnabad would provide rural students with quality education and prepare them for a future in national service,” Sanjay Kumar stated. He further assured that the Telangana government would provide land and infrastructure for the school, if approved. Defence minister Rajnath Singh welcomed the proposal and directed officials to examine its feasibility.
