Bandi Sai Bageerath Faces Repeated Rape Charges; Accused Deleted Videos & Evidence, Say Police

SIT’s IT teams and FSL experts were collecting digital evidence from Bageerath’s seized phones.

Hyderabad: Bandi Sai Bageerath, who surrendered before the Cyberabad police and was arrested in a Pocso Act case last week, faced additional charges under Section 64 clause -2 (M) of BNS referring to alleged repeated rape. He deleted key evidence and videos from his phone and removed his social media accounts, police sources said.On the day the victim lodged the complaint with the Petbasheerabad police, Bageerath reportedly switched his mobile off and began using another gadget using a separate SIM card, sources said.

The Special Investigation Team probing the case said Bageerath was buying time to destroy evidence before his arrest and were using digital forensic tools to retrieve crucial material related to the case.Sources said data retrieved so far indicated the presence of the accused in the locations, especially the Moinabad farmhouse, and on the dates mentioned by the minor victim in her complaint.

SIT’s IT teams and FSL experts were collecting digital evidence from Bageerath’s seized phones. They were also collecting messages, threats, photographs and videos allegedly sent by the accused from the victim’s phone to use as primary evidence.
