Bandi Decries Declining Law And Order In Telangana

He criticised the Congress government for allegedly supporting rowdy-sheeters with backing from the AIMIM, accusing Congress leaders of being desperate to appease AIMIM for a block of votes: Reports

KARIMNAGAR: Union minister of state for home affairs Bandi Sanjay Kumar expressed serious concern over the deteriorating law and order situation in the state. Speaking to the media in Karimnagar on Monday, he questioned police inaction in cases where rowdy-sheeters allegedly tried to murder police officers and cow protectors (Gourakshakulu) were shot at in broad daylight.

He criticised the Congress government for allegedly supporting rowdy-sheeters with backing from the AIMIM, accusing Congress leaders of being desperate to appease AIMIM for a block of votes. He also claimed that women across the state are angry with the Congress government.

The union minister further accused the state government of failing to deliver on its promises to women, citing the unfulfilled pledges of ₹2,500 per month, one tola of gold, and a scooter. He urged the government to follow the example of Uttar Pradesh by cracking down on rowdy-sheeters to create an atmosphere where they would “tremble with fear” before stepping out.

Earlier in the day, Sanjay Kumar attended the closing ceremony of the 8th National Poshan Maha Abhiyan celebrations at Kalabharathi Auditorium in Karimnagar. Later, he addressed the media at the Mera Yuva Bharat office near the Karimnagar bus stand, during the 150th birth anniversary celebrations of freedom fighter and Iron Man of India, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.

The minister called upon youth to make the Patel 150th Unity March a grand success and urged them to take the lead in national programmes reflecting Patel’s ideals of selfless service, unity, and nation-building. He described the Sardar@150 Unity March as a tribute to Patel’s legacy of national integrity, unity, and youth participation.
