Bandi Confident BJP Will Win Mayor, 3 Municipal Chairman Posts in Karimnagar
Sanjay Kumar cautioned party cadres against falling prey to misinformation or taking hasty decisions that could harm their political future

KARIMNAGAR: Union minister of state for home affairs Bandi Sanjay Kumar on Saturday expressed confidence that the BJP would win the mayor post of the Karimnagar Municipal Corporation and three other municipal chairperson posts within the Karimnagar.
Addressing a meeting of division in-charges, conveners and co-conveners at a private function hall in Karimnagar, the minister cited internal surveys and urged party cadres to work with a single-minded focus to ensure a landslide victory in the upcoming municipal elections.
He said loyal party workers would be given top priority during ticket distribution and announced that over 80 per cent of the tickets for the Karimnagar Corporation would be allotted to grassroots activists. He assured those who may not receive tickets that they would be accommodated through nominated posts or party responsibilities.
Launching a sharp attack on the Congress and the BRS, Sanjay Kumar rejected their claims that Karimnagar had not received Central funds for development. He asserted that more than ₹1,500 crore in Central assistance had been sanctioned for various projects in the city and claimed that all major development works in the corporation were supported by funds from the Centre. He called on party workers to take these achievements door to door.
In a setback to the Opposition, several BRS leaders joined the BJP during the meeting. Senior BRS leader and 35th ward corporator Sadaveni Srinivas resigned from the party and joined the BJP in the presence of the Union minister. Karimnagar Urban Bank director Bandi Prashanth and several supporters also joined the party.
Sanjay Kumar cautioned party cadres against falling prey to misinformation or taking hasty decisions that could harm their political future. He appealed for unity across divisions to ensure a BJP victory in the Karimnagar Corporation. He added that he would soon present the public with a detailed account of specific projects and central schemes implemented during his tenure.
