Bakrid: Malkajgiri CP Calls For Peaceful Celebrations, Urges Citizens To Reject Social Media Rumours

Citizens were requested to immediately inform police about suspicious vehicles, illegal transportation of cattle or any unlawful activities

Hyderabad: Malkajgiri police commissioner B. Sumathi called upon citizens to celebrate Bakrid peacefully and maintain communal harmony. She was addressing separate meetings with members of Muslim groups and cow protection (go rakshak) organisations, along with officials from multiple government departments.

Sumathi urged citizens not to believe rumours or misinformation, especially content circulated through social media platforms during the festive period. She said the police would be monitoring sensitive areas via CCTV cameras to maintain law and order.

Citizens were requested to immediately inform police about suspicious vehicles, illegal transportation of cattle or any unlawful activities. The commissioner also advised go rakshak activists not to obstruct vehicles transporting cattle, assault individuals or conduct forced checks. Any suspicious activity, she said, should be reported to local police instead of taking law into one’s own hands.
Police urged Musilms to carry out animal sacrifice only at government-approved locations and maintain cleanliness by avoiding disposal of animal remains in public places and to cooperae with municipal staff.
