Hyderabad: Referring to readily available citizens information in what he called authentic databases of the Telangana government, AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi reiterated his demand that the state government issue permanent residence certificates (PRC) or FRC (family register certificates) to voters. Owaisi, along with TMREIS vice-chairman Md Faheem Qureshi, was speaking after meeting Chief Secretary Sanjay Jaju on Friday.
Posting details on his X handle, the AIMIM president also referred to Karnataka government’s decision to issue PRCs and demanded that the Revanth Reddy government must consider doing so in Telangana under Article 162. “If Revanth Reddy accepts, it will be beneficial to poor people of Telangana in getting their names in the final SIR list ,which will save them many troubles and inconvenience. The Karnataka government is issuing PRC certificates through a GO under Karnataka Sakala Services Act 2011,” he noted.
