Hyderabad:With Christmas and New Year celebrations round the corner, city police SHE Teams said they were in a state of high alert to ensure that women and girls were not harassed. She Teams DCP Dr Lavanya said special focus was being laid on public places, shopping sites and religious places, as well as entertainment venues.
DCP Lavanya said She Teams officers were conducting regular patrols, surveillance, and preventive checks to curb harassment.
She advised women to travel in groups, not to travel alone in isolated spaces and not to accept rides from unidentified persons. She advised them not to leave their food or drinks unattended for fear of being spiked.
“Stay digitally aware and prepared. Keep your devices charged and carry alternative means of communication when possible,” the DCP said. :Share your live location with multiple trusted family members or friends, and ensure they can also reach you when needed through alternate numbers.”
