Aruna Blasts Cong. Over Union Budget ‘Misinformation’,
Aruna urged opposition leaders to stop spreading "misinformation" about the denial of national project status to the Palamuru-Rangareddy Lift Irrigation Project.

Hyderabad: BJP national vice-president and Mahabubnagar MP D.K. Aruna slammed Congress leaders for "baseless allegations" against the Union Budget 2026-27, asserting the Budget prioritised broad national and economic goals over specific state allocations. She countered by questioning whether the State Budget earmarked funds explicitly for towns like Gadwal and Mahbubnagar.
Speaking to reporters, Aruna elaborated on Centre’s allocation of three high-speed rail corridors to Hyderabad out of seven nationwide, totaling Rs 5.5 lakh crore: Hyderabad-Bengaluru (570 km, Rs 1.75 lakh crore), Hyderabad-Pune (550 km, Rs 1.65 lakh crore), and Hyderabad-Chennai (700 km, Rs 2.10 lakh crore). Telangana also stands to receive the additional Rs 1,100 crore.
She noted the announcement of seven Navodaya Vidyalayas for the state, with expectations of securing one of five proposed University Townships and girls’ residential hostels for all 33 districts. Aruna highlighted the high-level banking committee formed to review the Viksit Bharat vision, adding that Mahbubnagar town—now classified as a Tier-3 city and other similar towns in the state—will benefit from Rs 5,000 crore allocated for infrastructure in Tier-2 and Tier-3 urban areas.
Aruna urged opposition leaders to stop spreading "misinformation" about the denial of national project status to the Palamuru-Rangareddy Lift Irrigation Project. "Why not Congress included it under the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act? Who was truly at fault?" she asked, claiming personal credit for advancing the project and challenging critics for a debate.
The MP, joined by state BJP president N. Ramachandra Rao, Maharashtra minister Ashish Shelar (in-charge of municipal elections), former MLA Chinthala Ramachandra Reddy, and district BJP president Srinivas Reddy, inspected arrangements at MVS Degree College grounds for a public meeting on February 4, where party national president Nitin Gadkari will address workers.
